Most understated features of Windows 7

I really like the content over at Lifehacker and this post is no exception, there is however a feature mentioned that for me wins above all. Surely it is granular UAC control, I hear you say? Whilst this is a welcome addition, alas no…it is “Run as different user”, with Windows 2000 and XP this was out of the box functionality, however for one reason or another it was stripped from Vista. I can only imagine that it was something to do with UAC (perhaps the Run as admin and different user together seemed too confusing?). Back in Feb 2008 Mark Russinovich published a shell add-in for Vista and peace in escalated privileges land was restored once again…

In 7 this is all standard stuff, Microsoft all is forgiven….
