In the last 6 or so months the big G has made a number of aquisitions, approximately 13 (nothing new here), however two of them in particular are of interest to me…

• Gizmo5 (Nov-09) – a Skype-like business
• Global IP Solutions (yesterday) – an IP voice/video delivery company

My guess (and hopes) are that they are looking to strengthen their Google Voice proposition in addition to extending it’s reach beyond US based customers.

I guess we’ll just have to watch this space…
