Blu-ray, Sony’s high definition video disc format has made marginal improvements in the last year (7 percent of Americans own a Blu-ray player, up from 4 percent in 2008), however 11 percent have HD-DVD players. Critics claim this to be down to the more competitive pricing of the HD-DVD hardware, my personal view is that the branding “HD-DVD” is less confusing to the average consumer – “Blu-ray” however is a little misleading?
